Communications Associate

Suze Stapler (she/her) loves using creativity as a force for transformational change. She joined CI in 2023 from a wide-ranging background of communications work. While studying entrepreneurship and marketing at Belmont University, Suze found a passion for bringing ideas to life through visual storytelling. She launched her own design venture starting in 2016, tackling projects from branding to children’s books, but finding a common thread between her favorite pieces: education, advocacy, and kids. In 2020, her team-oriented spirit led her to Osborn Barr Paramore, where she worked for two years as an art director and content creator. Between crafting client campaigns, Suze moved to Oregon and continued her freelance efforts, tackling educational design projects with The Planetary Society, Oregon Wild, and the Divest Oregon campaign. Most recently before CI, she worked as communications and volunteer engagement organizer with Bark, a conservation organization working to protect Mt. Hood National Forest.

Suze is earning her MA in environmental arts and humanities at Oregon State University, where she studies advocacy and global needs for systemic change towards social and environmental justice. Outside of the office, Suze enjoys being, well, outside — trail-running, learning about wildlife, and exploring new places with her friends, husband Trey, and their  weird and wonderful dog, Oakley. She is thrilled to be a part of CI’s work toward improving the lives of children and educators across the state.
