  • Educators balancing developmentally appropriate, culturally relevant instruction and the science of literacy
  • Educators looking to enhance the effectiveness of their curriculum or assessments
  • Schools without a literacy specialist or instructional coach

How does it work?

Early Learning Providers, Tribes and Districts can choose from the following options:

  • Classroom Coaching includes observation, modeling, co-teaching, conferencing, co-planning.
  • Center, School, and District Consultation for literacy program design, birth-3rd alignment, curriculum and assessment selection, broker literacy partnerships.
  • Professional Learning: Includes content delivery, modeling, planning, and practice in the following areas:
    • Oral language, vocabulary, and comprehension
    • Phonological awareness and phonics
    • Fluency and prosody
    • Multilingual learners and culturally relevant practices
    • Children with special needs and disabilities

Children’s Institute Early Literacy partners with centers, schools, and districts to enhance birth-to-third grade literacy through hands-on coaching, consulting, and professional learning grounded in research and practice. This work is led by Erin Lolich, Early Literacy Specialist.
