Jean Back is a Shareholder at Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt, bringing over 30 years of experience to her work advising businesses and human resource professionals. With a warm, approachable manner, Jean specializes in employment law, helping her clients navigate everything from complex disputes to everyday workplace questions. Whether litigating, mediating, or providing guidance on state and federal laws, Jean is known for her practical advice and her knack for making complicated issues easy to understand.
Beyond her legal work, Jean is an active leader in the community, and an avid advocate for children. Jean has served on the Board for the Friends of Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and now serves as a Court Appointed Special Advocate, advocating for children who have been removed from their homes with open dependency cases. Jean also works to support Oregon’s manufacturing community and is a longtime Board member for the Oregon Manufacturing Extension Partnership and serves as Director of Advocacy for SW Washington SHRM. Jean is passionate about supporting businesses, children, workforce development, and giving back. She is also committed to mentoring new labor and employment associates, helping guide and inspire the next generation of professionals in her field. Jean speaks frequently on employment issues for a wide range of audiences and organizations.
When she’s not working, you’ll most likely find her outdoors—hiking, gardening, paddle boarding, or even dragon boating. Jean also loves to travel and visit new places.
