Our Staff Team / About Ashley
Prior to joining Children’s Institute in March of 2020, Ashley Walker spent much of her career in the field of early childhood and elementary education as a preschool teacher, trainer, and on the staff of Chalkboard Project. She relishes the opportunity to do work that aligns with her deep love and appreciation for children, families, and the professionals that help them thrive.
Ashley holds a master’s degree in teaching from George Fox University and a bachelor’s in sociology from University of Oregon. She is a member of the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation and works daily to connect to and lead with Indigenous ways of knowing and being. She is a writer, mother, lifelong Portlander, and very loud home-cheerleader for Oregon Ducks football.
